I want to thank all of the Sumner High School Band families for a great 2009-10 school year. Honestly, the students this year have been some of the best performing and best-representing students we've ever had in our program, and as I've told many people over the year - "I'd take this group anywhere!"

We've had some great adventures and I really appreciate the assistance and support that we've been given. With only about a month to go, we've got lots left, but this year has been an outstanding fun experience, and again I thank you for making it that way. Now, as we must do, we're already looking ahead to this summer and next year and the many new challenges awaiting us - some of which include:

Our first-ever trips to the Redmond Derby Days and Penticton Peach Festival Parades with our Summer Marching Band.

Our return for the first time in about 10 years to the Issaquah Salmon Days Parade in the fall.

Hosting the 280-member University of Washington Husky Marching Band (with several Sumner HS Band graduates) during football season.

Returning to many great spots and events, from the Surrey, BC Jazz Festival to the Victoria and Portland Starlight Parades.

Our 2nd Sunset Festival of Bands Field Show Competition on October 30th, 2010

We try to make every year unique for students and their families, so students will hopefully get a great variety of experiences as a Sumner HS Band Program member over their hopefully 4-year career. We’ve always got new ideas on the back burner, so stay with us and see where we'll go and what we'll do in 2010-11!
