2024-25 Sumner HS Marching Band & Color Guard

(Updated 5/4/2025)

....................................................................................

We are now into May and the “light at the end of the tunnel” is starting to come into sight, even though we’ve got many events to rehearse and perform at. First of all, I really want to thank the 20 dedicated members of the Addams Family musical pit orchestra for their many, many hours of rehearsals and performances over the past couple of months, but especially during the last couple of weeks. There were 6 performances of the musical over 5 days and they all were excellent. I’ve attached not only the members of the orchestra but other SHS Band Program members of the cast - they all worked very hard and put on an outstanding memorable show. Beyond the Musical, this last week we continued to work on preparing our upcoming performances with our Jazz Ensembles (2 events this week), our Marching Band and Color Guard (BIG parade in Port Townsend next weekend), and our Symphonic Bands (preparing for 2 BIG events: the Spring Concert with the separate groups on June 5th and then they are combined together to form the 9-10-11 Band to perform at the Sumner HS Graduation ceremonies June 10th at Kent’s ShoWare Center. We’ve got lots to work for . . .
Here’s a reminder of our upcoming events during this month:

We’ve been positively answering every challenge we’ve had this year, from our early events like the District Convocation (in August before school classes even started) to our 11 Football Game performances leading us to the State Championship at UW Husky Stadium, to our 3rd consecutive Auburn Championship, to the 28 Pep Band performances leading us to the State GBB Championship at the Tacoma Dome to our outstanding Valley Region Band Contest and Regional and State Solo-Ensemble performances to our Award-Winning Drumline Competition and the Musical performances - and so much more - WHAT A YEAR! Let’s finish strong and keep things going great right up through the final events of the year. We WILL do this - thanks so much!

See you Monday
