We hope that you’ve had a great Labor Day weekend and that you’re as excited as we are to get going on what is going to be a truly EPIC week coming-up. While we’ll have home football games each Friday for the rest of the month (and by the way, we won our game in Idaho on Friday night!), this week will be really stacked, with a Pep Assembly on Thursday, the Washington State Fair Rodeo Parade on Friday morning, our opening home football game on Friday evening, and capping it off with our once-every-4-years trip to UW to perform at Husky Band Day. You’ll be seen and heard by many thousands of people over the next 5 days so get ready for an exciting start to our school-year performing schedule. We’re getting off to a busy start with 4 performances this week, but we’ve done it before and we have fun playing for our students, for a lot of people at the Rodeo Parade, for a LOT of people at our first home football game of the season, and then we go to UW and get to be seen by about 3,000 other Band members from the many different schools that will be there (and the outstanding UW Husky MB, with several of our Sumner HS Band graduates in the group) - by the way, there will be about 70,000 people at the UW game! In addition we’ll have 2 more Sumner HS Home FB games in the next 2 weeks after this, so we’ll be working hard and having fun building our field show and supporting our football team. Plan out your schedule, make sure you get lots of rest, stay-up on your other classes and don’t drop behind at the start, be here for classes and for evening rehearsals, and enjoy being in a REALLY ELITE group that is going to Pasadena and performing in the 2028 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade 15 in months!
